For the Thanksgiving Holiday, The Geek Speak Show plays back interviews with new creative friends we made earlier this year. First up is Annie McVey, director of Alistair1918. She talks about directing the time-travel short film, doing double-duty as actor and director, and trying to shoot on the busy streets of Los Angeles. Then, Clay Delauney and Andrea Snider called into the show back in March to talk about their short sci-fi film, Visible. Reuniting actors Henry Ian Cusick and Sonya Walger (Penny & Desmond from LOST), Visible is a powerful film with a timely message, particularly for those of us that describe ourselves as geeks. Rounding off the 'dinner" portion of the Thanksgiving episode is a chat with the director and choreographer of that awesome Darth Maul fan film that we know you all watched a few times, Darth Maul: Apprentice. Director Shaun Bu and choreographer Vi-Dan Tran talk about their love of Star Wars, Darth Maul, and action films.
Enjoy this full course of Geek Culture as your Thanksgiving "dinner", then listen to the "Dessert" episode afterwards. Or start with "Dessert", be a rebel. All rebellions start with hope... (See what we did there?)
